💰 SGA's Logoman Redemption Just Sold for $1.06 Million
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is officially in the seven-figure club.
A redemption card for his 2025-26 Topps Chrome Gold Logoman Autographed Relics Game-Used Patch sold for $1,061,400 at Goldin's May Elite Auction, setting a public sales record for any SGA card. The buyer doesn't even have the card yet, just a piece of cardboard that says Topps owes them a card.
For context: SGA just won his second consecutive NBA MVP award. He's 26 years old, still ascending, and his market is tracking like a player who could end up in the conversation with the all-time greats. The previous SGA record was under $100K.
Other notable sales from the same auction include:
A 2023-24 Panini Prizm Black Gold Victor Wembanyama rookie at $324,642
A Kobe Bryant Panini Impeccable card at $329,400 (a record for any Impeccable card)
A 2025 Panini Prizm WNBA Gold Vinyl Paige Bueckers rookie at $184,830
Fun to see superstars in their prime commanding prices we used to only see for retired legends. Curious to see what the ROI will be on these.

🏆 The Most Expensive Cards Ever Sold, Ranked by America's 5 Most-Watched Sports
How much is the single most expensive card in each of America's biggest sports? Collectibles.com has the full breakdown, and the numbers tell a wild story.
The NBA owns the all-time record: the Jordan/Kobe Dual Logoman 1/1 sold for $12.9 million at Heritage last August. Baseball is right behind it at $12.6 million for the 1952 Topps Mantle SGC 9.5. The NFL's top card is the Mahomes Shield RPA 1/1 at $4.3 million. Hockey belongs entirely to Gretzky, whose O-Pee-Chee rookie PSA 10 hit $3.75 million. And MLS? It's really the Messi market. His 2004-05 Mega Cracks rookie reached $1.5 million in September 2025, climbing nearly 5x in under six months heading into the World Cup.
The biggest takeaway: viewership doesn't predict card prices! The NFL dominates TV ratings, but its top card is less than one-third of basketball's. Read the full rankings and analysis here.
🏀 The Knicks Finally Won a Title, and Collectors Are Going Wild
For the first time since 1973, the New York Knicks are NBA Champions.
The team completed a historic run last Saturday, and the hobby responded immediately, with Topps dropping a 16-card Knicks NBA Champions Topps NOW set within hours.
A Jalen Brunson / Karl-Anthony Towns / OG Anunoby / Mikal Bridges / Josh Hart autographed starting five card is already drawing strong interest.

SI Collectibles reported that celebrity Knicks fans (Spike Lee, Ben Stiller, Jerry Seinfeld) are driving unusual interest in courtside memorabilia.
Funko announced a Knicks Championship Pop! line that's already on preorder. Highland Mint has bronze coin sets.

Card values for the Knicks' core have been climbing all postseason. Brunson's Eastern Conference Finals MVP moment got a Topps NOW card. KAT's first championship could reshape how the market views his career arc. And OG Anunoby rare cards surged during the Finals run.
If you held Knicks cards through the rebuild years, this is the moment that it paid off!
⚽ Panini Just Made the World Cup Album Even Harder to Finish
If you thought 980 stickers was already a lot, Panini has news for you.
The company just released a World Cup "Update Set" featuring players who were called up late to their national teams, including Neymar (Brazil), Manuel Neuer (Germany), and Pau Cubarsí (Spain).
That means collectors who thought they were close to finishing now have another batch to chase.

The Daily Mail is reporting that parents face costs exceeding £2,000 to complete albums for their kids. Brazilian sticker traders are hiring armed escorts to transport high-value inventory. And NPR just ran a feature on how this World Cup has the biggest Panini boom in the tournament's history.
The 48-team format already made this the largest album ever (980 stickers, 112 pages, 7 stickers per pack).
Worth noting: FIFA and Panini confirmed in May that their partnership ends after the 2030 World Cup. This could be one of the last albums with this format. Or they could announce another update set next week. With Panini, it’s become increasingly hard to tell.
🦸 Magic: The Gathering x Marvel Super Heroes Is Here
The biggest Universes Beyond crossover yet is officially in prereleases.
Magic: The Gathering x Marvel Super Heroes launched prerelease events today, with full retail release coming June 26.
The set features the Avengers, Fantastic Four, S.H.I.E.L.D., and deep cuts from the original Marvel comics (not the MCU). This is the most ambitious crossover MTG has ever done.
Wizards of the Coast released the full Commander decklists last week, and the collector community is already tracking which chase cards are commanding premiums.
If you're looking to grab sealed product (collector boosters, play boosters, Commander decks) before the general release, your window is now!

💡 The Bottom Line
In summary: A redemption card sold for over a million dollars. A new ranking of the most expensive cards in every major sport showed that basketball now holds the all-time record at $12.9 million, with football's top card at barely a third of that. A championship drought ended after 53 years, and the collecting world responded with the full merchandise apparatus in under 24 hours. A sticker album is costing families thousands of dollars. And a card game crossover with Marvel superheroes is pulling in crowds at game stores across the country.
The hobby isn't slowing down. It's just getting weirder, bigger, and more expensive. And we're here for all of it.
See you next week!
